Robert and Jenieve Bailey are based in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies.
Born in Brown’s Town, St. Ann, Jamaica, Robert grew up singing in church circles in his hometown, becoming a baritone in high demand to augment the output of choirs, quartets and other vocal groups. His breakthrough came in 1987, when he topped the Jamaican Youth for Christ Discovery Competition as best male vocalist.
Daughter of internationally renowned musician, Toots Hibbert of “TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS,” Jenieve grew up immersed in music. Groomed by her father, she was a foundation member of the group 54-46 along with her sisters Leba and Melanie. Jenieve however, had a longing to sing gospel and, in 1987, after giving her life to the Lord, she was invited to join the Life Singers, which she and Robert both did in 1988, and this was their meeting point. By 1990, the pair launched out on their own as Robert and Jenieve, later consummating the partnership in marriage. They are proud parents of Joel and Renaldo Bailey
Robert and Jenieve have toured internationally and produced several recordings. Over the years, they have been recipients of numerous awards from the Jamaica Music Industry Foundation (JAMI), the Omega awards, Jamaica Federation of Musicians (JFM), and the MAJA awards. They are currently working on their next album along with four singles, “Reaching Higher,” “God Reigns,” “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” and “No Man Is an Island.”
Their ministry is destined to change lives all over the world.
